So my sister-in-law who is vaccinated and died anyway wouldn't get a death benefit? It'll never stand up in court. It's ridiculous. Getting vaccinated doesn't guarantee you anything

No, if she's vaccinated death benefits will be paid.

The policy makes perfect sense; and no I don't "hate" anybody, I simply applaud the policy.

Maybe it will induce a few hold-outs to step up to the plate and get vaccinated.

So the dead guy dies from something, say Covid and he isn't vaxxed, so you want to withold death benefits to his family? How does that punish the dead unvaxxed?

It’s not about punishing the dead.

It’s about encouraging the braindead to finally get vaxxed and not punish the rest of us.

Meh. I don't know how much this is about promoting the vaccine and how much it is about seeing a potential way out of paying death benefits.

Death benefits (if offered) should have clear contractual terms anyway. Seems to me that this just opens the door to finding other reasons (not made known ahead of time) not to pay out death benefits. Depends on the employer. The MTA seems to make this known, and I stand by employers having the right to fire employees if they make being vaccinated a condition of employment.
