Female Marines are likely needed at the gates for pat downs of the incoming ladies. Unfortunately...some Taliban (all dudes) didn't do any searching before her.

That is very true, its been a long issue in Afghanistan, "Lionesses" was the term often used pre-genderneutrality for women who were trained to be culturally sensitive to gender issues and to interact with Afghan women in the field (this was before women were allowed in combat roles, so it was relatively unique in the mid 2000s), as traditional front-line SMs (all male at the time) could not interact with local women effectively (or culturally sensitively).

I am sure this is still the case now (except now women can officially be in combat roles and not attached by a backdoor method while officially being labelled a "pay specialist" or whatever as their MOS while patrolling with an infantry unit).
