I read there is a 100% chance the
whole package will land on Beijing's
desk next week.

Whatever source you read this at is complete garbage. (We all know you won’t actually provide a link to the source - possibly because it doesn’t exist).

There is quite literally ZERO chance the entire package lands on Biden’s desk next week. ZERO.

Thanks Flea. Really clear and well done. How did we get here? I mean really. The President of the United States, who had been vaccinated BEFORE he became President denied we had vaccine before he was President. You can’t make this up.

He's not Trump. The defense rests, Your Honor.

Not good enough for me to have voted for him, (which I didn't) but good enough for me now.

$15 minimum wage will pass next
week. That's more than double the
current min wage. What this will
do is obvious. 100's of thousands
will lose their jobs as small
businesses will have to make do
with fewer employees or go
broke. This will make the hiring
of illegal aliens jump thru the
roof and make it almost impossible
for young entry level workers to
find jobs. It's an economy killer
plain and simple. Many jobs will
be eliminated and lost forever.
The start of a permanent commie/
socialist welfare class is the intent
of this. It will work like a charm.

Are there even any small businesses left, at this point? How many independent bars and restaurants have shuttered whilst major fast food places have been kicking @$$!? As long as major restaurant chains had enough in the coffers to weather the storm, they'll emerge from this pandemic in markets in which they don't have as much competition...just when there had started to be a real push to, "Buy local."

Pizza places probably did pretty well, at least.

Everything I’ve read implies it won’t pass. But if it does, the CBO estimates 1.4 million jobs lost. You think those are jobs that rich educated people get, or more the Democrat base?

I hope there is a compromise. Say $9, $10, $11, $12 over next 4 years. I think here in NY it is already $12.50, and more in NYC.

I think it will pass but it will definitely be tiered over a few years.

From what I saw yesterday
Restaurants booming
Took the Pacific coast highway along the beaches
Everything was packed
I considered stopping for lunch somewhere
But
No parking anywhere
The whole drive, all beach towns more then thriving, crowded
Gaslamp quarter rocking. Streets closed. Restaurants expanding into streets
Too many people and cars in southern CA
Parking everywhere is a bite

They're probably not allowed to have indoor dining, which would explain expanding into the streets. A documentary I watched on San Francisco restaurant owners during the pandemic would tell a different story, but could be misleading or lying, how would I really know?

The only thing that I know of firsthand is the number of bars and restaurants in my area to close permanently as a result of not just the pandemic, but perhaps more directly, Government shutdowns of indoor dining that Fuhrer Wolf also did again in December.....the absolute best month for the restaurant industry.

No doubt it would be handled better if we had more experience handling such things. Makes it easier to understand what crop and animal producers go through when they have to kill thousands of livestock or entire harvests because of disease.

Biden's polling is steadier than Trump's

Quote:
Biden's average approval rating is 55% and his average disapproval rating is 39%, which makes for an average net approval rating of +16 points.

What's the point: Nothing ever seemed to shake Donald Trump's job approval rating. It moved less than any other president in the polling era.
So far, Biden's proven to be even steadier than Trump. And very much unlike Trump, people seem to actually like what Biden is doing.

Biden's net approval rating a month ago stood at +18 points in an average of polls. That means his net approval has shifted by only 2 points in his first month in office.

In Trump's first month in office, his net approval rating fell considerably more. He actually started with a slightly positive net approval rating of +1 or +2 points, depending on how you averaged the polls. A month in, he was at about -7 points.
