Really? Seens to me it's the most valuable thing kids learn in school these days, especially given the leftist beliefs of most teachers. When the enemy is at the gates we damned well better have a lot of young men and women willing to enlist and fight for their country. |

Our country is all about being free and thinking whatever you want. The most nationalist thing we can do is let people have their own beliefs without indoctrination. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent. |

The important thing is pledging allegiance to your country. It should be required, and said daily as when I grew up: nothing at all wrong with drilling patriotism into the malleable minds of kids. Better they should be induced to fight to preserve the American Way than be taught it is no good and that it should be destroyed. Liberals: using the freedom won from the blood of patriots to criticize the notion of patriotism; hello, cowardly draft dodgers. Conservatives: willing to fight to protect their families, their country, their way of life. |

Way of life????????? Thats why the civil war started The entire southern economy depended on slaves regardless if you owned one or not Get rid of slavery, you destroy a way of life.
