I'm pointing out why one is more intrusive than the other.

That is because one is also more important than the other. When did it become a bad thing to show support for your country?

I don't know if it's true, but I heard that local schools here no longer have the pledge of allegiance.

I know kids were not required to say it if it is offered, but not offering it, if true, is something altogether different.

You can see people showing public support for their country in places like North Korea. What's special is being able to show public dissent.

TP you are fine with someone taking a knee during the anthem as a political statement. If someone reads a poem supporting standing for the flag, also a political statement, you want to puke? It is the same thing just opposite sides of the same coin. Just face it you are a bigot when it comes to conservatives.

Somebody takes a knee and you are offended
Turn away or walk away
Very easy to avoid
I like passive political statements that are incredibly easy to ignore.
Its the most polite way to protest
I cant close my ears to constant BS over the loudspeakers. Impossible to ignore. I just wanted to puke

The annual parade in Sheridan WY celebrating the annual rodeo
Dont get more Americana then that
Wonderful
Loved the floats, marching bands, horses and mules
but
A few minutes where I just wanted to puke
Nobody hooked up loudspeakers except one vehicle
The godmobile
It was too too loud and over and over "God Loves You' to some tune
uggh
No big deal if I did puke, street cleaners and sweepers machines came through washing the streets due to a lot of horses in the parade

Rodeos in Texas are touristy affairs where the PA announcer assumes that the crowd is largely unfamiliar with the sport and explains the basics of each contest. How is it in Cody? Do they expect that most of the crowd are locals, familiar with the subtleties of the event?

They had 2 PA announcers. A standard announcer for all the names and times or rating. Spoke about 10% of the time and never explained the event. 90% the rodeo clown had the mic to entertain. California and Californians is a standard butt of a lot of jokes
Thinking of going to the rodeo tonight if not sold out. In Sheridan and its a once a year event instead of Cody's every nite. I hope they don't hire that same clown from Cody

Riddle me this: if god so loves us, why did he kill his only son?

Rodeo in Sheridan was sold out
I went anyway because I wanted to check out the carnival
The announcers were different in Sheridan which I could easily hear
It was covered like a sporting event. Standard announcer and a color man. No real comedy show like Cody
I think there was a lot more prize money at stake at Sheridan since its once a year
Cody more of an entertainment show then competition show since its every night.

The carnival was absurd. Real long long lines for everything. Carnival owner was raking in the dough. Each ride had about an hour long line
I guess pent up demand

If my kids were young I would protest if the school still did the pledge of allegiance. My argument would be that is time being wasted that you could be educating the kids.
