Since I sold my house, have lots of cash
Put most of it into mutual funds
I let the experts take care of my money
but
I did set aside 50k to play with stocks. Own about 25 stocks with an average 2k investment, mostly blue chips.
So far I am quite pleased with my picks
So far my hot picks are

CRM (Salesforce)-I never heard of them till they became my client before I retired. This is one of the fastest growing companies out there. I am really impressed. Growing so fast, they are now part of the DOW. They own the tallest building in San Francisco. The owner bought Time magazine as a hobby.

SMG(Scotts Miracle Grow)-I wanted to invest in marijuana. Did some research and was pointed to this company. They have a huge division getting into the MJ business so growth potential is huge.

Anybody got any hot stock tips

Check out MDawg thread on WoV. I'm going to join you on SMG! If you want to be really speculative, join me with GLXZ! It is a gaming stock that broke $2 pre pandemic, now around $1.30.

In on SMG at 173.6

I am still poised for the big downturn before I go buying; in other words I have been predicting the W shaped recovery that many others think is coming

Admittedly that second downturn is seeming never to come

Furthermore, I got fouled up in the first downturn by thinking the market would go lower than it actually did, making me hold back on buying. This stuff is hard to do, I guess that is why "they" tell you not to do market timing. But I am also talking about the funds set aside for speculation same as you

Just saw that. Excuse is the AAPL split will not let the Dow move as much or along that line, showing what a racket it is behind the scenes.

Are you buying because you think it is a good value at this price or just because you believe it will go up?

Just a whim. I don't know what I am doing. I'm a ploppy.
But
I'm fascinated by that huge drop
I'm a low roller just like my action at casinos
I have a buy order for 3 shares but might change my mind before the market opens. That's like 1K, not enough to get hurt or make a killing

So you are pleased to have the stocks going up again once the market felt Trump was not too sick. You did notice the market fell quite a bit on the first news that Trump was in the hospital?
