I thought that at first, but it turns out I (and you) were wrong. If the vaccine gives 100% immunity then, yes, if I take it it does not matter to me if you take it. But, let's say the vaccine only works to decrease my likelihood of getting it by 90%, then having as many people having been vaccinated lowers my, and everyone's for that matter, chance of getting it. Flu vaccines tend to be 75% effective, sometimes, better, sometimes worse. Even though I KNOW that society, and you, would be better off taking the vaccine, I 100% support you in your decision not to take it. That might change in the future. Below I list a whole bunch of vaccines YOU have had. I think in NY you are given vaccines for measles, mumps, rubella whether you (actually your parents) want them or not? Maybe also pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, hep B, polio, varicella, and a few others. |

Which throws us into a totally new risk/reward formula. I do not trust that it will be risk-free for many reasons. Throw in the speed they are putting it under and I would rather just take my chances and take the proven hydroxychloroquine and zinc if there is another outbreak by me. Really wishing they would put hydroxychloroquine OTC for this reason. Or at the least put it by the pseudo cold pills so they track if you are buying enough for 20 people. War is peace. Yep, everyone who voted "Yes" is assuming that a vaccine will work as advertised and that there are little/no risks.....................and that's a huge assumption to make especially when we're talking about a vaccine that's being rushed out at warp speed. |

A paper that needs signing instead of sitting for a week in the inbox goes out the same day. Or a committee meets ahead of schedule. More money deflected into the program. That sort of thing. The Russian vaccine did indeed skip normal steps. I mean I couldn’t find anything on what specific step is being skipped, maybe someone else can. For one we clearly cannot have the same kind of proper studies you have when you develop it over several years. Not nearly the testing pools. This will probably mean ignoring side effects as when they find something working they will give it push. "Front of the line" is one thing. Double checking your work is something different. If we have a huge side effect, oh my. The population will be up in arms. It really might be better to concentrate on treating it, which we have been able to do with simple, old-school medicine. Skipping/shortening animal trials to make sure it is safe BEFORE going to human trials. Ramping up human trials to large numbers of people before fully evaluating the safety in small human trials. Eliminating the wait to see what long term side effects might be from the larger trials. Producing 100's of millions of doses before even the shortened trials are complete. Will they throw them away if there are some issues with early versions? Vaccines typically take a decade or two to fully test and design. A theoretical but entirely plausible scenario. Lets say long term side effects of a faulty vaccine end up seriously harming 2% or 3% of those that take it. The remainder of the people are protected by the virus. If we don't know about this long term effect millions will be vaccinated think wow I'm protected from Covid. Later we find out that more people have been damaged by the vaccine than the 1% mortality rate of Covid. That as why drugs are not rushed to market. Okay. Fair enoigh There Are a number of risks for pregnant women taking different drugs, but aside from that can anyone name a long term side effect from a single injection in any country not just the US. of a drug used for treatment. Not talking immediate side effects, because that would be obvious. Or a series of injections. One shot long term side effect on a non-pregnant individual that affected a large population. Just one example. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

But somehow I have a sneaking suspicion that libbies (who claim to love doctors) won't listen to these doctors because it doesn't fit their narrative. Damn hypocrites 🙄 |
