If this is the case, how come the spread of the virus has been slowed/stopped ANYWHERE that is not on an absolute/total lock down?

China is going back to work.

China contained it
Wuhan is still under a lockdown.

Cuomo is complaining about the lack of ventilators. In 2015, when NYS realized they were 16,000 ventilators short of the 18,000 necessary in a severe pandemic, the state health commissioner decided to save $575 million and devised a plan to ration them in the event of a pandemic. The state ‘triage officer’ would decide who lives or dies.

"Patients assigned a red code will have highest access, and other patients will be assigned green, yellow or blue (the worst), depending on a “triage officer’s” decision."

"Man Dead From Taking Chloroquine Product After Trump Touts Drug For Coronavirus"

"Instead of the drug form of chloroquine phosphate, the couple ingested a chloroquine phosphate product that’s used to treat parasites in fish. :

What part of only take drugs prescribed by a doctor did they not get? It is sad that a man died and this should be used as an opportunity to warn people about using drugs without a prescription...but the media goes with the "Trump" thing...

I can't find any official rating of the accuracy of the swab test, similar tests for other flu's have only 80% accuracy. The swab tests also can not tell if you have had a mild case and are recovered and virus free. This means you might have immunity from the mild case but won't know. The blood test for the antibodies in your blood stream can tell if you had the disease but it is slower for results, more expensive and not widely used yet. Factor these into your thoughts on the tests solving our crisis on their own.

As I write this, there have been 703 coronavirus deaths in the United States.

This article, (published on March 20) makes the following predictions for the United States:

March 26: 800 deaths
April 7: 12,800 deaths
April 15: 20,000 deaths

We estimate that 80 thousand of the 2 million infected Americans will be hospitalized over the next 2 weeks (a hospitalization rate of 4%). There are 46,825 medical-surgical intensive care beds in the U.S. according to American Hospital Association. This means we are going to hit the ICU bed capacity especially in the counties that already account for most of the cases in the U.S.

Wow. By April 15 it is expected that coronavirus deaths will be within 10,000 of flu deaths!

A thought. If you are sick with fever, difficulty breathing, etc... you very well may have the flu. And the last thing you want to happen is to be placed on a hospital ward with 10 coronavirus patients. But where to put the thousands of patients nationwide that are very sick with the flu?

Buffalo has EMPTIED an entire hospital to be used solely for COVID-19 patients. That makes sense.

It's a a Trump thing, partially, because that is where they got the idea.

I received an Executive Order from Cuomo prohibiting the use of Chloroquin unless you have specific governmental approval for using it experimentally. My ID friend says he would use the Gilead anti-viral drug, and is actually doing so in Nevada. He says there is no evidence the anti-malarial actually works. But since it IS being used experimentally we will soon find out.
