As long as your measurement methods are consistent year to year, errors aren't going to affect the difference in results of the big numbers. Only more precise measurements. There's always a margin of error estimated anyway.

Brits were mocked because their sailors took limes with them on board the ships so they wouldn't get scurvy. This was seen as a giant superstition and everybody laughed in other countries. * I recall that the Whigs insisted it was nonsense but the Tories tried to have a mandate that limes would be issued and consumed except by those with a religious exemption.

Actually, it was usually lemon juice added to the sailors generous daily rum (grog) ration.

Apparently, it’s, “Permanent,” because words don’t mean what they mean when they’re being used in a legal sense. Essentially, they’re making it a permanent mandate because if they draft it as, “Temporary,” it can’t automatically extend beyond 180 days.

Do you believe that explanation, or do you think it’s just so there’s not too much public outcry amongst anti-maskers? I think both are equally likely.

The entire Left Coast is totally psychotic and only loosely part of the country anyway, so I really don’t think we have THAT much reason to care what they do in their little state-nation experiments as long as they’re not trying to do the same everywhere. In any case, I don’t see how this could result in any cost increases over here in America, so I don’t really care.
