An Oregon doctor who falsely claimed that wearing masks can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning has had his license revoked.

As of September 2, Steven Arthur LaTulippe is no longer allowed to practice, according to records from the Oregon Medical Board. LaTulippe also received a $10,000 fine.

He won't be able to practice in the US but he can go to Europe and get a job tomorrow. My doctor 20 years ago got drunk and went to his ex-wife's house with a gun and threatened the guy she was with. He was arrested and charged with a felony and lost his medical license. Convicted of a felony he cannot practice in any of the 50 states so he went to the Netherlands and got a job immediately. They love USA trained doctors even if you tried to kill somebody.

That is probably good, both sound like people we should not want in the U.S. Certainly not in positions of power (Medical Officers).

Also, he would have trouble pulling that gun stunt in the Netherlands (where all firearms and ammo are illegal, you need a permit if you even want to carry a sword or many knives in public)....

His prescribing high doses of highly addictive opioid medication, to patients that didn't need them probably has more to do with the suspension, than spreading 'misleading information' on masks.

The OP said "carbon monoxide" which makes no sense since humans do not produce CO.

As silly as the masks are I doubt you would pass out from CO2.

Trivia: Those leaks that sleeping people die off don't have to be as bad as some people might think. If you're breathing in carbon monoxide over a period of time like 8 hours, all that needs to happen is getting more in faster than you can get rid of it. The problem is, it takes hours for CO to leave the body once it binds to the hemoglobin. So it can build up constantly even at lower levels.

I knew a guy almost died of it. Was working on his cars and realized something was wrong. Collapsed in his yard for hours. Dragged himself to his couch and had to lie there hours or more, could not move.

One goofball in a college philosophy class used to complain about "carbon monoxide." Said "the flowers by the road were ruined by the carbon monoxide from the cars." The prof was a total out there hated cars lefty. you might mistake him for being homeless. But even he thought this guy was weird. Guy another time complained about the "carbon monoxide getting all over him" when he was on a job sandblasting a bridge or something. So that time said prof said, "you are confused, carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless."

FWIW the prof kind of enjoyed having me in his class to be the unofficial counterpoint.
