Your's looks 1000 times better than anything I can get in a local Chinese restaurant. I had a 1lb lobster tail covered in clams, mussels, shrimp...... On top of risotto. Wife had peppercorn crusted filet mignon. She cuts me a few pieces of the peppercorn crusted part. Yum! |

I open up one and its largely brown with very little green or yellow. I opened the remaining one and it was only green and yellow, not a bit of brown or black. Meanwhile, I have ingested asperagras all morning long and am about to ingest a potassium pill to boot. |

This is what a ripe edible avocado looks like. If's any other color, cut out the bad spots or toss it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

petroglyph Member since: Aug 3, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 6227 | The local grocery store has a bin of 4/1.00 avo's now. I got a couple of them, they are small Hass Avo's. When I stepped up to the bin, sure enough some woman was squeezing every avocado in the pile. Try it, pinch one, wait a couple days then open. You can see bruises where it was pinched. Same thing with apples, banana's and probably other fruit. I get the green ones and let them ripen on the counter. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

They must have thin skinned avo's in AZ. I've eaten 1 a day for years and buy them 10 at a time. I squeeze every one, everybody does, and have never seen a bruise. They're always in pristine condition when I cut them open. I also squeeze all them again at home when I pick one to eat, no bruises. Most of our avo's come from Central America. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

What is causing the ones that are blackish inside to be blackish, or bad spots? The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |
