Yea but Israel gets the biggest piece of the pie
Israel gets billions. Why should they get way way way way more of our aid then other countries
Why cant Israel just support itself instead always looking for a massive handout from the US

Because they are located adjacent to and nearby to numerous Muslim dominated countries that have a stated goal of eliminating Israel from the face of the earth. You can't possibly believe that if it were not for the impressive Israeli army and defense forces, and their help from the USA, Israel WOULD NOT EXIST. It would be annexed by the strongest Muslim force in the area.

From the Official PM of Israel Twitter:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
No country in the world respects America and the American Congress more than the State of Israel.

As a free and vibrant democracy, Israel is open to critics and criticism

with one exception: Israeli law prohibits the entry into Israel of those who call for and work to impose boycotts on Israel, as do other democracies that prohibit the entry of people who seek to harm the country.

In fact, in the past the US did this to an Israeli member of Knesset, as well as to other public figures from around the world.

Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar are leading activists in promoting the legislation of boycotts against Israel in the American Congress.

Only a few days ago, we received their itinerary for their visit in Israel, which revealed that they planned a visit whose sole objective is to strengthen the boycott against us and deny Israel’s legitimacy.

For instance: they listed the destination of their trip as Palestine and not Israel, and unlike all Democratic and Republican members of Congress who have visited Israel, they did not request to meet any Israeli officials, either from the government or the opposition.

A week ago, Israel warmly welcomed some 70 Democratic and Republican members of Congress, who expressed broad bipartisan support for Israel, which was also demonstrated a month ago in a resounding bipartisan vote against BDS in Congress.

However, the itinerary of the two Congresswomen reveals that the sole purpose of their visit is to harm Israel and increase incitement against it.

In addition, the organization that is funding their trip is Miftah, which is an avid supporter of BDS, and among whose members are those who have expressed support for terrorism against Israel.

Therefore, the minister of interior has decided not to allow their visit, and I, as prime minister, support his decision.

Nonetheless, if Congresswoman Tlaib submits a humanitarian request to visit her relatives, the minister of interior has announced that he will consider her request on the condition that she pledges not to act to promote boycotts against Israel during her visit.

This is a very reasonable response to an unreasonable visit. They were going there to drum up support for Palestine and promote BDS. It was an anti-Israel publicity stunt. I am glad Israel is finally banning more BDS people, they have been too soft for too long..... They have laws in place that allow them to be much more firm, I hope that they continue to use them...

Have I posted something negative about Israel? Pretty quick to accuse. Is posting facts that you don't like, necessarily negative?

Israel, you, whoever, go have a war. Just leave America out of it.

To a "not Israel firster" she is an Apartheid theological state. I'm also not fond of god religions.

I noticed in the "Vice" video Terapined posted, right off the get-go was a quick copy of Ahmadinejad shaking hands with Jews. He as the Iranian PM that was accused of [but only mis-interpreted] of saying "death to Israel" or some such. What he was speaking about was the Zionists, not the people or the faith. About @ 50 sec.

I said I probably debated you if you posted something negative about Israel on WOV, which now seems likely since you just called it an apartheid state <snip>

Yeah, he has called death to the Zionists and is a despicable person.
That's like saying, "death to white supremacists", big deal. Anything in particular that makes Ahmadinejad despicable? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iran/6256173/Mahmoud-Ahmadinejad-revealed-to-have-Jewish-past.html

Israel would exist without US support, it fought off a barbaric invasion in the 40s and 60s without US aid. That is when America became interested, because it saw the powerhouse in the region.

Israel would not exist if not for its own military, and many people on here probably think that their military is too brutal, is occupiers, etc..... The usual anti-Zionist stuff.....

I know this, Israel is the only country in the middle east where I can be open about my beliefs (I also probably am one of the only ones here who has been to multiple Middle Eastern countries). Trust me, nobody would want to live anywhere but Israel (for one gambling with some exceptions like sanctioned camel racing, is illegal in all Muslim countries, also no alcohol...…)

If you view Zionists and White Supremacists as the same thing, there is nothing to debate, logic is gone from this discussion.

Also, most of the great archeology is coming out of Israel....

There is no apartheid in Israel, all Israeli citizens are treated the same. Citizen who live outside of Israel and refuse citizenship get treated different, its as simple as that....

UAE is terrible.

Rich? Yes.

Terrible laws. Dictatorship....

Also, I thought you were against religion based countries?

Most of the GCC are rich, but terrible. Also, basically legal slavery.

How are they more ethical than Israel?

If you enjoy Israel (one of the only fun and free countries in the Middle East where you can express yourself freely)

I thought they enjoyed free speech there, until this incident.

They enjoy free speech, but like Kapernick they do not like the reactions of some people to what they say.
