| DoubleGold Member since: Jan 26, 2023 Threads: 34 Posts: 4242 | I've been buying Ford Trucks and Lincoln Town Car(s) my entire life. I won't ever buy another again, so you're correct. But I didn't think about publicizing it. Budweiser and Nike made my main point good enough. No need to rehash. By the way, that was a great commercial with that Ford Truck. I'm looking at a few Toyota vehicles. But definitely not electric. |

You realize Toyota is more Democrat than Ford? As far as blatant support for Democratic party. Now, I view this as a positive so good for them. For example, Toyota will not fund any candidate under any condition, that disputed the result of the 2020 election (which is a very sane position). However, it is funny how cons are more concerned about a simple image showing solidarity than things that actually matter (massive political support). Personally, I like Ford and Toyota (much better than GM anyway), so I don't really care. |

I wasn't looking at the red versus blue political context. Just the reverse discrimination of Ford. However, I haven't checked if Toyota followed suit yet, so I'd make sure to do that before I bought. I've always preferred to buy American. So Ford was my last domestic hope for non-electric vehicles and I don't care for GM products. |

How is that discrimination? At most you would find that distasteful. That is not limiting your rights to buy or not buy the product. |

I am surprised you like Ford given the anti-semantic views of its founder. He was one of the only Americans Hitler admired. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

Yeah Henry Ford was a monster. But, it is now shareholder-owned. During WWII almost all vehicle companies were terrible. At least Ford did not make vehicles for the Nazi (VW) or the Imperial Army (Toyota). Ironically by this standard GM is probably the cleanest (basically was an allied vehicle producer). I mean Hugo Boss is the ultimate in men's fashion, and they got their start designing SS uniforms (and using concentration slave labor). Almost all companies during WWII had shady history to put it mildly. If that company was based in Europe or Japan during WWII multiply the shadiness. When you go back in time and nitpick every company during WWII (or earlier) you will enter a rabbit hole of terrible behavior. It's best to focus on what they are doing (or not doing) now. |
