Good for you--enough is enough.

Is there any attorney-ethics thing that you have to do any residual work on the cases you are working on? I assume not as you are not a partner but curious.

Nope - the firm is retained, not individual employees thereof

Vindication. No disrespect to the members of a distinguished age, but your time is over. The idea of a "company man" has been dead for years. It's the age of I gots mines, and unless you're working for a mom and pop that IS your mom and pop, these jobs don't give a f!@#if you die in a street.

Two fingers and bounce.

Happy spring. To new beginnings.
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

Just received an email from the Owner stating he "did all he could to keep me" and the 7% raise came out of his personal money and he never told the protege or the bookkeeper (LIES - as the bookkeeper came to my office yesterday after I returned from Court to ask if I needed to update any tax info while she was notifying the payroll company of the 7% raise)

Does not even realize what he did wrong

He is playing a violin as the firm burns down around him

Par for the course

Congrats Ace. Now go out and get yourself another job quickly so you don't have to go back begging for a job in three months if you are still unemployed.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

My best
guess is, ProtePrick stuck his nose in and
mucked up the new deal. Ace lost it and
quit, which is what ProteJerk wanted
all along.

"perhaps he was upset that the owner gave me a raise and granted my request to work from home one day per week -- who knows???"
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

If this jackass is falling asleep during
meetings because he's pushing 90,
and when he goes, the firm goes,
that alone is a reason to get out.
This way you're in control, not waiting
for him to croak or stroke out.

Sounds like everybody there see's
the scribbling on the wall, you won't
be the only one to jump ship.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

You can always count on family in times like these - my sister called to tell me I'm going to end up broke and homeless
