Excellent point. The NRA is a perfect example. Texas, long known as a gun friendly state, now has the most lenient gun laws since 1871. Concealed carry, open carry, campus carry at state universities, waiting periods eliminated. But the NRA doesn't think we are truly free because there are restrictions on armor piercing bullets and silencers. And why should training be required for carry permits?

1,300,000 registered suppressors in the USA as of 4/17. That's up from 900,000 in 4/16. 400k increase in just one year. They not only help with neighborhood noise pollution, but also the very real cost of hearing loss. And the amount of crimes, averaged per year, that involved silencers over the last decade?

44. That's 0.003% for those without calculators.

There's slippery slope, and then there's righting a wrong. Though I've never had much good to say about the NRA, I can't see how this is anything but the latter.

And I wasn't being sneaky omitting AP rounds. Truth is, I cannot find a crime stat on them. Prolly cuz, like pretty much every firearm "fact" these days, it's all been cut from whole cloth.

Looks like current regulations requiring ATF registration allow law abiding gun owners to buy but discourage criminals and effectively prevent a black market Must admit until I read up on it today, I had an inaccurate impression of suppressors. Sinse I only shoot at the range, ear protection makes more sense for me.

What man has ever been able to figure out what a women was thinking?

There was a line on the TV show Cheers that I really appreciated.

"How many women does a man need to sleep with before he understands just one."
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

"How many women does a man need to sleep with before he understands just one."

"The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is 'What does a woman want?'" Sigmund Freud: Life and Work

Women are confusing to men because
they can often change their minds on
something with no warning. Change
their minds about major things, not
just what movie they want to see.

If you've experienced this with more than
one woman, you start to be leery about
trusting them. You don't know what makes
them tick and it can be downright scary
at times.

There used to be a creature known as the
'confirmed bachelor', up till the middle
of the 20th century. He was respected,
wasn't looked down on, he just wanted
nothing to do with women. Even women
avoided trying to change him, he was
a lost cause.

Now there are still CB's, but they are degraded
and shunned and mocked. If you avoid putting
up with up with what a lot of women will
put you through, you're a weakling and a
coward. It all changed right around the
time 'women's lib' started in the early 70's.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

The MGTOW thing is about bringing the CB back to respectability. One woman called me "damaged goods" because I was at the time mid-30s and never a committed relationship. Saw one woman a few months, just did not care for being in a relationship. Seemed such a waste of time.

I do not care if I am shunned and mocked. I pay no alimony or child support. Seen that just bleed so many guys. Go where you want, when you want. Eat what you want. Buy what you want. DO what you want. One of my goals in life is to take a convertible coast-to-coast, top down. I will not have to hear, "honey, it's cold, put the top up!"

Prairie Home Companion has a character
that goes back decades, the Norweigen
confirmed bachelor farmer. Nobody
thought him odd then, but they do now.

Just like the Boy Scouts, the ever moving
feminine hand has to now be in everything
that was once a male stronghold.

But anytime there is a group of guy guys, some female is trying to elbow her way in.

Men are more likely to support women hanging out together, than vice versa. I sponsored my x's bowling league, but if I wanted to go play pool with my friends, I would be asked if I was "queer".

I think that the thing is women think men are doing something way more exciting than is really going on. Or that they are out trying to pick up other women behind their back. Often they just cannot stand that they are not the center of attention.

That is probably true.

Gives them another opportunity to prove to the guys friends, who the boss is. Kinda ruins the idea of mens night out.

They want to play the same game with the men, that the women play together, only guys don't want to play. Women are much crueler than men. And quite often, worse parents.

Yup. Last year my wife said she was
worried because I talk to my old ex
priest friend on Skype once a week,
and FrG on here all the time. She
actually asked me if I was 'going
Gay'. And she was serious. Women
have been brain washed that if men
like the company of other men, they
are 'Gay' now.
