A decent Xmas collection, and not one
that mentions Jesus. Thank god..

Do you see the irony in that statement?

Of course. But the god I reference is
the one we swear about, not the fake god
people worship.

So are you saying there is a God or no God? How can you swear about one if there is none?

God used in a sentence like 'thank god',
or 'goddamit', has nothing to do with
any god. It's simply a popular way to
express yourself. Like when I drop
something on my foot and yell the F
word, I'm not referencing the sexual
act. Or when I say 'shit', I'm not implying
fecal matter. God is just another word
to an atheist.

You say Thursday, which comes from Thors
Day. Are you thinking about the god Thor
when you say Thursday? Doubtful.

Sorry, but if you truly believed there was no God a person would say "Thank Heavens," "Thank Goodnes," or anything along that line.

I mean, if you are that adamant then why would you use the word? Why would you not use an expression that made sense to you?

Fishy.

People adopt expressions and use expressions even when they no longer are even up to date or even apply to anything they have ever done. "jumping on the bandwagon". "Get off your high horse" Heck little kids imitate what they hear whether it makes sense to them at all.

I've never been on a bandwagon.

In the nick of time. "The nick that was being referred to was a notch or small cut and was synonymous with precision. Such notches were used on 'tally' sticks to measure or keep score."

It still makes no sense to me. It really makes no sense when a person is so atheist that they openly preach their what seems hatred for any kind of organized religion. Someone with that belief would go out of their way not to use the term "god" in an expression.

Check out the extra playing a pathologist in a white coat at the 10:20 point. Anybody recognize him? I think he should have got an Emmy for that performance.

If I wanted to sound like my grandma. Using
god as a popular idiom has nothing to do
with a gods existence. It's simply a way of
expressing yourself, nothing more. I also
say 'Jesus Christ!' sometimes. And believe
me, it has nothing to do with any person
or religion. I grew up hearing my uncle
scream it at his kids.

Sorry, but logic says otherwise. Move on.
