FrG throws around the word 'supernatural' like
it's a real thing, and it just isn't.

"Science can not and does not believe in the existence of the supernatural. Believing in the supernatural inevitably means stepping into mythology. We reject supernatural causes in the same way that we reject implausible material explanations, because the evidence tells us that they don't exist."

For years the Amazing Randi offered $1,000,000 to
anybody who could prove the supernatural exists.
He still has his money. It doesn't exist except in
the minds of overly excited zealots who dismiss
the need for proof, like actual proof is a waste of
time.

And where do you file reincarnation?

An unproven theory. They have small
kids that remember past lives, but
it's a mystery how they do this. It's
been proven the memories are connected
to people who died, but nobody knows
how the kid got them. If it was some
kind of transference, it would be natural
and not supernatural anyway. The Hindus
and Buddhists regard reincarnation as
a completely natural part of of the birth/
death cycle.

Wishful thinking/denial-of-death/superstitious nonsense/religious nonsense/decent plot device or plot theme/Shirley MacLaine joke.

How could this possibly be explained as a natural process? I file this in the same folder as Jesus walking on water, Moses parting the Red Sea, and Mohammed moving a mountain.

Do you think dark matter and black
holes are supernatural, we don't know
how they work or even what they are.
If somebody dies and his soul, for lack
of a better word, is born into another
body, why would that be supernatural
just because we don't know the process
of how it works.

James Randi has had thousands apply to
win his million dollars, and over 700 actually
tested, saying they could show the supernatural
existed. They all failed, none even came
close. Supernatural is a word for something
we don't understand, it has no real meaning.

Saying gods are supernatural is another way
of saying you have no idea what you're talking
about, so you use a meaningless word.

I'd tell you, but I'd be suspended for it.

The thing that drove me the most
nuts about the Xtions I hung out
with in the early 70's was, they were
so dependent on each other for
their beliefs being valid. The fact that
all the others in the group seemed
to believe the supernatural claptrap
called Xtionity was enough reason
for any doubts you had to be calmed.

It was a kind of mob mentality. How
can all of them be wrong, I would be a
fool not to believe it too. They spent
as much time talking about being seduced
by the supernatural and demons as they
did talking about god and Jesus. I had
to eventually push them away because
it felt like an outpatient clinic for a mental
hospital.

Ever since then my attitude has been, you
have something supernatural, prove it or
shut up about it. I don't bore you with stories
about feeding unicorns in my garden, don't
you bore me with your silly supernatural god
stories.

I still cant get past the feeling you think we all have that reincarnation is true and that we should just pay attention to this "feeling" and we would know that the universe is eternal and cyclical....seems well...kind of crazy.

We know instinctively we've been here
forever and will be here forever in
one form or another. Everybody who
has ever killed themselves wasn't
insane, many or most knew they
could leave and start over. They just
couldn't express it in words.

Both my parents are dead, many friends
I knew along the way are gone. An old
friend I haven't seen in 20 years died
on Xmas Eve from a slip and fall accident.
How much time do we spend wondering
how these people we knew are doing now.
We spend no time wondering because
we instinctively know they are just fine,
no worries. Never heard one time somebody
anguishing over a loved one who died 10 years
ago and agonizing over how they are.
We already know how they are. Instinctively.
