I've always felt that both Jack and Rose could have fit on the piece of Titanic debris.

If the issue was not space but buoyancy, they could have put Rose's life jacket under the door the piece of wood. If that wasn't enough, get more from the passengers that already died who were floating nearby.

In that case, I highly recommend the movie The Reader.

I almost wrote in to the BBC once, after they showed Titanic (uncut) as a Sunday afternoon film. Not to complain, but to compliment them on an appropriate showing of a half good film in spite of the nudity. But all I could find were addresses for sending complaints to.

I have heard it's difficult to get a compliment out of the English.
