What really irritates me about Halloween
is, people call it a 'holiday'. It's a
celebration and not a holiday. No
banks close, no gov't offices close,
nobody has the day off. There's
no special meal, nobody is
compelled to do anything. The
worst part about Hween is, the
next day it's November.

I remember in my taxi the big
fun in the poor neighborhood's
was 'snachin' on Hween. The teen
kids would wait till the little kids
had been out for an hour, then
steal their bags of candy from
them. Steal 10 bags and that's
a couple months of candy. In
the poor neighborhoods parents
didn't go with the little kids,
they were easy targets for
HS kids.

Might be the worst Hween I've ever
seen weatherwise. 35 degrees, wind
and snow/rain. Avg high is 55. It
rained a few times when I was a
kid, or later took kids out. But
never this cold, it's really miserable
out there in much of the Midwest
and East.

The blue is snow.

Am I the only one that loses almost all respect for someone as an adult that dresses in a costume for Halloween?

There is a blue moon on Hween
this year. Only happens once
every 20 years or so. Drives
superstitious people crazy.
A full moon and Hween are
both loaded with superstition
anyway, put them together
and you have problems.

The Halloween blue moon was used
frequently in Hween postcards at the
turn of the 19th century. You were
lucky if you ever saw one, it's
usually overcast on that night.

Ive done it
Not lately
Whatever weekend falls closest to Halloween
Back when I was younger and hitting up the major party spot in town
My case, Fells Pont Baltimore. Lots of bars, lots of people on the sidewalk mingling in costumes. Its a hoot
Nowadays, if I see somebody working on the 31st in a costume, I really appreciate it. Brings a smile to my face
And some costumes are funny
I remember after the Vegas Tiger accident
Very popular costume with a toy tiger hanging from a neck :-)

Its the feel good story of the year
Guys car breaks down
No big deal
He gets on his skateboard swigging Cranberry juice and lip synching Fleetwood Mac to get to work
He videos himself and uploads it
The rest is history as his video goes viral
