DirecTV Allows Some NFL Refunds After Anthem Controversy

Question is, will teams follow with tickets? Packers, Bears, Giants, Steelers, and Cowboys can probably resell a fair number, but what about middle-support teams? What about teams not coming close, like the Chargers?

Had they allowed Limbaugh to stay in football, he'd currently be endorsing those "felons" instead of taking shots at the NFL.

It would have worked, perhaps, if the NFL switched from their current college draft model to a minor league farm system like baseball.

I'd give better odds to an expansion team or two in England or Scotland.

Or probably telling his players to act like men and not asses. Trumps team did fairly well in its time.

NFL Ratings Down 11% YTD

This is for all 3 games so far. People have been tuning out the product. Next week will show the first real result of fans tuning out the circus they are making of themselves. Will it fall 20% year-on-year?

Ratings may go down a bit

get paid by advertisers by how the ratings
go. They don't have long term contracts,
ad rates go up and down. If they have to
pay the teams a certain amount and aren't
getting that amount back from the advertisers

I heard a stat that even if the NFL's ratings declined 26%, they would still be multiples bigger than the second place sport; the NBA.

It is still a big hit to the pocketbook, but the business is sound... for now. CTE testing that can be conducted while players are still alive will have a bigger effect on the game. Pro careers that used to last a decade may be cut down to one or two seasons. The game as we know it now may be completely eliminated as a High School sport.

I support the players who wish to demonstrate. However, I give more support to the players that show respect for the flag and ALL that it represents. The freedom to demonstrate did not come free.

So what. The point is, the NFL is locked
into a contract until 2022 that they will
be paid a specific amount. The networks
have no such contract with sponsors,
they get paid for ratings. They go down,
the networks are screwed big time.
