I do stay home now. The kids all live in other states, my wife takes her parents out to dinner. Staying in on Xmas eve and day is the best. Right now there's a Mythbusters marathon on the Science Channel. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I almost had it. My boy's mama is here now, so he's gonna have Xmas with her for the first time in 4 or so years. That means I give ZERO s#$%s about this god awful holiday. I knew mama was gonna be sore, but I also know she understands me and would let me go if I insisted. But then, she's a legit angel and whatever it would mean to me to stay home completely pales to what it would mean to her if I went. So, I go. Also, my grandfather, who I largely consider the man who raised me (and made me the old man in a boy's body y'all know), just got a leukemia diagnosis. He's 83. There is no missing this one. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |
