I do not get what the "could be better used elsewhere" part means. The money is not coming from the government.

I look at it as similar to going to a local game where the pretense is made that if you tell ticket buyers that paying as much as possible for tickets is the only way we can have a fair game. I don't believe it for anything else and I don't believe it for politics. That's what I'm saying.

I don't know of "conservative rulings" restricting demonstrators, students, etc. We have started having "free speech zones" to protect the rights of people who do not want to listen. But as far as students go, what has happened is liberals have started to violently try to stop free speech of conservatives.

If not for ability to spend, you really limit the ability of the non-establishment person to break thru. Look at Bernie. The fix was totally in against him at all levels. Limit his spending and it would be even worse.

I see it exactly opposite. Ever see one of those craft competitions where they throw 4-5 people into a competition to make a sword or knife?

They give all the contestants the same materials, same time limits, and let them all see what they can do.

But that does not scale. News gives more coverage to some than to others. Unions support with manpower as well as money. Some folks get more name recognition than others going in. And as we have seen in 2016, parties will put in the fix for one side to win while other parties will do all they can to see someone loses.

Money in politics is a fact of life that will not change.
