I'm not defending it because I don't think it is a good bill. I don't know if they can make it a good bill or if they will vote on a bad bill. The only thing that will come of a bad bill is that it may help some chuckleheads decide that TrumpCare is what caused all the problems in the first place, not Obamacare. Obamacare got us here; "fixing' it with a non-fix will just deflect blame for the issue somewhere else. Of course, one cannot forget the almost worship-like support of ObamaCare; defending it even as it takes our system towards the toilet. That was the intended outcome of many...drive us to single-payer "just like everyone else"... |

I've never seen any "worship-like support" of Obamacare. In fact, I've never seen one single Democrat who wouldn't admit that it is flawed and needs fixes. But the GOP has refused any attempt to improve it. Only repeal would do. Obamacare becomes more popular everyday as Americans see what the GOP alternative is: tax cuts for the rich funded by decimating Medicaid and increasing premiums for the poor. The GOP should be ashamed, but as we all know, the GOP has no shame. As for the drive to single-payer, I don't know. I never really bought that argument, as it just seems so unlikely to me that single-payer could ever be implemented in this polarized country. California is attempting to pass a state wide single-payer bill. That will be fascinating to watch to see how that goes... “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

I did. Plenty of denial that there were any issues with the plan in spite of evidence presented. I don't know how they would fix the mess that Obamacare is at this point; I don't think anything they are about to do will do that. The Democrats should do what they can to get CBO-scored bills that would improve/fix it and let those scores push the Republicans into a corner. I said that the Republicans should have done something like that; instead, they obstructed and introduced repeal without any real viable replacement. Both parties (yes, both, sorry) seem to be bad at remembering what actually legislating was about. It doesn't matter what position you support, we are getting shortchanged by an inability to legislate.
That is not true either...more markets are losing insurance. That means more people not being able to afford insurance. I can't see how that would make Obamacare more popular.
Just like Romneycare, that is they way it should be done. Let the states handle the issues and go from there. Just collecting a bunch of money, sending it to Washington and allowing them to dole it back out is not the way most of government should work. The further the power gets away from you and I, the voters these people represent, the less of a voice we have. |

Wow. You are so wrong on this it is almost funny. It is big news. It is not that it is a bad news story on a baseball game, or on a three story fire, or a school closing.... the story is 'fake news' about the President..... just what our chief bloviator has been whining about for months..... So now whatever you think of DJT, he has clear ammo to go after CNN and it's ilk.... It is so sad that CNN could not just use all the real things he does to go after him..... quite pathetic actually... |

We must live in alternate universes. Dems have always said there are fixes that need to be made. Republicans have always refused.
The funny thing about TrumpCare is: it doesn't even fix this problem! The CBO report says in 2019 there will be areas where no insurer is in the non-group marketplace. It's a pretty damning indictment of the GOP when this is one of their biggest attacks against Obamacare, and yet their bill DOESN'T EVEN FIX THE PROBLEM. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

It's gotten so bad, people just take it for granted Donald is going to lie. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |
