Disney or Trump pretty much the same reality isn't it.

Yes, but then again that was Disney's big budget horror movie.

Fitting.

How about the claim by Kasich that:

1) Trump approached him to be his VP and
2) The implication was he'd get so much authority and responsibility delegated on him, he'd effectively be the chief executive?

I believe the first, because Ohio is an important state to carry.

The second would be hard to believe from a politician. Who wants to be elected figurehead? I mean, why else is the Vice-presidency worth a bucket of warm spit? So I can't see any politician delegating that much authority.

On the other hand, it's Trump we're talking about. It's getting really hard for him to do something so outrageous it doesn't seem credible.

And we've seen him vehemently deny so many things that are on the record, with such lame excuses to boot, that any denial of this claim is completely without value.

I agree. It all comes down to the Electoral College, and with the exception of Texas, every other big state is solid Democrat. (Florida & Ohio are toss-ups.)

Incidentally, conservative Republican author George Will is arguing that at some point in the next couple years, Texas will flip from Republican to Democrat:

Quote: George Will
Texas is not wide-open spaces filled with cattle and cotton fields. Actually, it is 84.7 percent urban, making it the 15th-most urban state. It has four of the nation’s eleven largest cities — Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin. Texas’s growth is in its cities, where Republicans are doing worst.

Dallas has gone from solidly Republican to solidly Democratic. A recent poll showed Harris County (Houston), which is 69 percent minority, with a majority identifying as Democrats. The San Antonio metropolitan area is about three-quarters minority. Travis County (Austin, seat of the state government, the flagship state university, and a burgeoning tech economy attracting young people) voted 60.1 percent for Barack Obama in 2012.

I don't know enough about Texas politics to determine whether George Will is full of baloney. But if he's right, the Democrats will control the White House and the Supreme Court.

Interesting. His argument boils down to "Democrats cater, literally, to civilization" :D

No, I don't believe that, But it's a good joke.

The Republicans all through both Obama's terms have become obstructionists who like to play the victim card. The problem is that obstructionism is not helpful to anyone, and no one buys their victim act.

Consider the Obamacare debacle. It's not that they opposed it, but that they didn't come up with an alternative bill. Worse than that, they had the 8 years of the Bush administration to present their own plan, and they didn't do it.

On foreign affairs, they still have to admit invading Iraq was the most boneheaded decision in post-Cold War history (and that's going on 25 years by now). No, i don't think Bush lied or ordered others to lie. I think the intelligence was equivocal and it didn't justify a full-scale invasion, given what we knew at the time about likely regional instabilities. I'll even admit I was for it at the time, much to my current regret.

You can forgive people for their mistakes. You can forgive bad judgment. I can neither forgive nor overlook blind hindsight. The thing about mistakes is that one is supposed to learn from them, refusing to do so out of partisanship is insane.

Early word is that Trump's speech tonight will be "dark" and "dystopian."

He knows the only chance he has is if people are scared.

Hopefully he will overplay his hand.
