But you don't deal in real truth, you deal in hypothetical truth. You take a whole lot of unproven things for granted to arrive at your 'truth'. That original sin is real, that Jesus was made by god, that he rose from the dead, that he sits in heaven worrying about everybody and answering prayers. None of that is truth to me, it's myth and nonsense. None of it can be proved, so why even consider it. It's just a story, and there are lots of stories just as good as that one that aren't true either. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

What a mish-mash of unrelated ideas. Why are we here, why does there have to be a reason. Is there meaning to our life, only what we give it. Will I be held accountable, I already hold myself accountable, don't you? How should I treat others, that's instinctive, even animals know how to treat others in their pack. Is there right and wrong, it changes with the situation. Killing in war is right, killing my neighbor because I don't like him isn't. Am I free, I have no idea what this means, free of what. Who is god, I don't know, I see no god, so he's nothing to me. What about creation, I see no creation, so what about it. You think you see one, that's your mistake. See, all those questions are easily handled with no god involvement at all. Easy peasy.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

If you start with a false premise, that god is real, you then have to construct a bizarro world where everything fits together. If you took 10 men from 10 different religions, and put them in identical suits and lined them up with shaved heads, could you guess what their religion was? You could not, because all gods exist in peoples heads, and they don't exist anywhere else. God is a thought, god is an idea, he can only be found in the head of a believer. The same place Santa and unicorns live.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Please for the love of God tell me what evidence or logical argument you came across to reach the conclusion that there is certainly no God! “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

First of all there is no greater story than the Gospel. Have you ever noticed that every good story, movie, or book always in some way reflects the story of Jesus Christ. Anyway, you seem to harp on the fact that it can't be proved. There are lots and lots of things about this life that you believe that cannot be proved without a reasonable doubt. How come in none of these things are you called stupid for believing in them but in the one thing that while not proven beyond a doubt can be shown to have huge amounts of evidence pointing to it, namely the belief in God, you cannot bring yourself to believe it and call others ridiculous who do? “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

I came across the same evidence for there being a god as I did for no god. That is, none. That makes god a non starter, a non subject. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

There are lots of better stories, but they're all just stories. You must know that even the Jesus story, about being born of a virgin and rising from the dead, is told in many earlier stories from that region of the world. Look it up sometime, the Jesus story is far from unique. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

You answered with a good question one that furthers the depth of our discussion. Don't just leave it there.
Is that true? What if we give our life no meaning or we give our life exaggerated meaning? Is everyone right no matter what meaning they may give themselves? If I give meaning to my life as a secret agent spy is that true?
Yes, but I am not a perfect judge, especially in dealing with myself. What if you don't hold yourself accountable or are blind to your mistakes; does that mean you are not responsible for those actions? What about people who don't hold themselves accountable and get away with horrible crimes, will they ever be held accountable?
So you should attack the weaker guys and take their mates or leave the old and sick to die? Or do humans have very different instincts than every other animal.
In what situation is it right to rape a little girl or kill an innocent person? What if everybody believes slavery is okay, does that make it right?
Are you a slave to the chemical reactions in your brain or do you have a free will that can either control what the brain thinks or a will that is located separately than the brain, perhaps the rational soul that can overcome the commands of our feelings, emotions, or passions?
Is anything you can't see nothing to you?
What do you see? Where does stuff come from?
Ha, I laughed very hard when I read this, as you can see from above there is nothing easy about any of these questions and their is precious little that science can teach about the answers to these big questions. “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

So why did you conclude one way and not the other? Was it just because that is where you started? Why did you start there? “It is with the smallest brushes that the artist paints the most exquisitely beautiful pictures.” ( |

That's what you do when you look at both sides of something, you make a conclusion. Unfortunately, it was made it was made for you by your upbringing. You're incapable of being impartial. Joseph Campbell you are not.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
