Right again. I saw a variant of this one on a Mensa exam. How long to do this calculation? Here is one from acoustics. Given that log is base 10, and log(2)~.3 and a decibel is defined as 10*log(I) where I is acoustic intensity. Answer the following without a calculator. How much of an increase is there in decibels if you have 10x the intensity? If you have double the intensity? Half the intensity? Eight times the intensity? |
