Suppose there is a gun to your head and you must choose between Cruz and Trump for president. Who do you choose?

Trump easily.

I'd agree with you except for one point.

Trump seems capable of apocalyptic disaster. Not sure what or how. I just don't find his manner reassuring. If I wake up one morning and the world is on fire, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump had something to do with it. That is, if he becomes President.

Cruz would just drive me crazy with his policies -- but he is more predictable.

One of things I like best about Trump is he called out George W Bush for the war in Iraq. As far as I know, the only Republicans to run for president to repudiate that war are Trump and Ron Paul. Maybe Rand Paul did too, I don't know. Trump loses a lot of points with me on other issues, but definitely earns some on his position on that war.

Based on what. Until recently he was a
tree hugging Liberal. You think now that
he's a Republican he wants to blow
everything up? You don't make sense.

The only good thing about Trump is he's going to die someday.

Whereas that's only Hillary's second-best thing. The first is that she's not Donald Trump.

He's certainly not anti-war though as he's talked about using nukes. And he's brash, over-confident and demonstrated over and over that he talks before he thinks. Hasn't clearly examined all the things he talks about. Is uninformed in critical areas.

He might be a General Custer, and all he needs is an opportunity to screw up bad enough.

Too bad he'll be all alone in the WH
with no advisors, carrying the nuke
button in his pocket ready to push it
any second. That's about as much
sense as you make.

What do you mean button in his pocket? Don't you know there is a nuke app for iPhone for GOP pols only?

I'm sure Trump has advisors. How much he follows them at any given moment, one wonders.
