Quote Investigator has a lengthy article on that one.

Come to think of it, Bradbury's famous quote about the future concerns Fahrenheit 451: "I'm not trying to predict the future. I'm trying to prevent it."

While we're at it: "The best quotable quotes have a million and one half parents." Nareed ((c) 2016). There. That grants me priority, and I placed in two canary traps (of sorts).

Only six A350s delivered so far this year. The goal was to be about 50 aircraft delivered by the end of the year. It seems like Airbus is having serious production problems.

Despite having a record 6 A350's delivered in August, Airbus has still only delivered 22 in 8 months of 2016 and 14 in previous years. In order to make 50 for the year, they will have to average 7 deliveries per month for the last 4 months.

Boeing has delivered 92 Dreamliners in the first 9 months of 2016, and is on track to exceed the 135 delivered in 2015. In addition a much greater percentage are the larger 787-9 than the initial 787-8.

Aeromexico has 9 Boeing 787-8 with 32 business and 211 economy seats. They are due to begin deliveries of at least 6 Boeing 787-9 with 4 additional business seats and 17 additional economy seats.

Norwegian begins new nonstops in November from Las Vegas to Oslo Norway and to Gatwick airport in London using the Dreamliner.

Bloomberg reports Airbus as nervous after Delta announces a 'review' of its 14 billion dollar purchase agreement with Airbus.

For a long time delivery slots have been viewed as bargaining chips rather than firm contractual committments. It makes for instability which is probably a good thing in certain respects.

Slow deliveries and manufacturing problems.

The company said that its three-month earnings before interest and tax fell to 240 million euros ($262 million) from 498 million euros a year earlier. The company also fell short of analysts' predictions that it would earn 326 million euros.

In addition to lingering issues with the A400M military transport plane and production delays with its twin-aisle A350 aircraft, Airbus is waiting on a fix for engine glitches experienced on the new A320neo (new engine option) narrowbody jet, which will eventually be manufactured in Mobile.

Pratt and Whitney claims to have the fix but that it must undergo thorough testing first.

Yeah, but remember when taking 80 days to circle the world was a work of science fiction?
