Ron Popeil was a marketing genius. What Ronco products do you remember and did you ever own any? I don't think I ever had one as a kid or an adult but a friend had the Pocket Fisherman.

I always liked the "In the egg egg scrambler".

The man spawned a whole industry of drawer-stuffing products.

There was a microphone that would send a signal to your radio. I think he inspired the creation of Bluetooth.

Edit: Mr. Microphone I found a copy of the commercial on YouTube. Was it a Ronco product?

Phil Dunphy: If had this car in college, I'd be
riding around singing as loud as I could into
my Mr Microphone.

Black neighbor: Yeah, I don't think you and I
would have done much hanging out in those
days.

Hard week for the TV pitchmen. Philip Kives (K-Tel founder) died Wednesday. Kives was a Canadian so I am not sure how much exposure he had in the US. One of his most famous products was the "Veg-O- Matic".

Set it and forget it. That's the one. Was a chicken rotisserie or something, wasn't it? We had that.

No other Ronco junk. Though i think I recall a pot and pan set. Prolly so slick not even the teflon wouldn't stick to it or some jazz.

If Popeil kept his crippled ass behinds scene and drafted one Billy Mays, it'd be game over. His wealth would afford him continents.

Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.
