Thanks, I did miss that. Actually, seeing the northern lights is definitely on my bucket list. I've thought about going up to Savalbard to see them. Hopefully they will have a direct flight there from Oslo. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Nov 2016 6:10 PM 11:55 AM +1 Duration: 9h 45m Return : Oslo- Las Vegas Tuesday 8. Nov 2016 1:45 PM 3:10 PM Duration: 10h 25m They also have flights from Oslo to Longyearbyen-Svalbard (3 hours each way ) for over $200 round trip, but they only fly Friday /Monday. It is a big chunk out of your one week visit (Tuesday to Tuesday). No way to do a 7 hour train trip to Stockholm and climb Norwegian mountains unless you make it a two week visit. You would have to spend two day in Oslo recovering from 9 time zones just to fly to Svalbard. http://www.flytoget.no/ "Fly to Get" is a 36 mile rail route that goes at 130 mph from the airport to downtown Oslo. It is the fastest "airport to downtown" train in the world outside of Shanghai, but the Shanghai station is far from downtown. The Heathrow Express is about 100 mph. I think Narita Express is about 60 mph. Paris has high speed rail station at Charles de Gaul airport to other cities, but the line to downtown completed in 1976 is a RER line and is much slower. |

Other than that it looks like he is finishing out 8 years by more or less ignorning Eastern Europe. I am not sure why he is getting involved in British internal politics as far as BREXIT. Saudi Arabia Riyadh April 21 President Obama is scheduled to attend a summit meeting with the Gulf Cooperation Council to discuss ways of addressing the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and other regional conflicts. Once April and May get here there are a lot more direct flights. I booked Thomas Cook to Glasgow and was also looking at Norwegian Air which flies to Copenhagen and Stockholm from Vegas. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

http://www.reviewjournal.com/business/carrier-begin-nonstop-las-vegas-service-stockholm-copenhagen It's true if you don't want to wait for the nonstop to Oslo, you can go to Copenhagen or Stockholm. But there are no mountains near Stockholm, My brother's friend where we stayed in Stockholm didn't have a car, but he did have a speedboat. You could walk from his apartment building and boat around the city and pull up to a pier in Old Town and have dinner. Very nice! President Trump does not want to emulate his four predecessors in foreign travel. He would like to attend the summit meetings and make some visits to the primary allies like UK and Japan. He has expressed an interest in meeting with Putin in Slovenia (Melania's birthplace) which at population 2 million has never been visited by a sitting US president. The last five presidents have made a visit to Canada before April of their first year as a show of friendship. Trump seems to find such a trip a waste of time. GW Bush broke tradition by visiting Mexico first before going to Canada. Well, they have little choice but to let him in. Most of the world doesn't want anything to do with him. And if you don't think that plays a part in Golden Boy's decisions, then you haven't been paying attention to his massive and fragile ego.
And won't be sooner than 2020. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

As a businessman first and a politician second, Trump probably does not care to waste time on trips for the sake of trips. Hard to say how some of this works out. Canada is probably so used to a POTUS coming that it is nice but a hassle. OTOH, smaller countries can love and live for a POTUS visit. It makes them feel special, and many pull out all the stops. The President is a fink. |

It's difficult to say, but the North American Leaders may feel slighted if every meeting is in Washington. The North American Leaders Summit (NALS) has never been firmly in the schedule after the first 5 years. The so called "cowboy summit" between Vicente Fox and GW Bush at Fox's ranch was widely seen as symbolic for a first visit. 21 Presidential visits to Canada in 36 years 5 Ronald Reagan 4 George H. W.
