See what you want. I know what I see. All societies decline and fall eventually, is is a law of nature. The USA had a good run, but it is in the home stretch. The next society will take our place, but it will probably take a dark age of 100 years of more before it does. Deniers are fine with me. They will be the least prepared which will allow those of us to thrive during the collapse such as we can. The President is a fink. |

Except there are no signs of decline, just change. You're confusing the two. When women got the vote, many men and many many Bible believers thought the world was coming to a crashing end. No matter the time period, there are always (always) those who swear society is in decline and hey could prove it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I have shown you many, you refuse to see them. There are many more, far more than I have time for. The President is a fink. |

But they aren't really declines, that's just your interpretation. From the 1880's to the 1920's, you could find at least one newspaper in the country that had a doom and gloom editorial about the onslaught of immigrants coming here. Were in decline as a society, the end was near. Ancient Rome was often mentioned. There was no way we could survive the criminals and drug addicts and drunks that were arriving here daily. And it was true. Some places in Europe put prisoners on the ships just to get rid of them. Many average people were drug addicts and drunks. The amount of hatred and vile heaped on these poor immigrants was enormous. Society was very much in an upheaval and many saw it as decline and doom. Did it work out that way? If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

And guess what? By the 1930s they slammed the door hard on all immigration. Unlike now, back then immigrants were not given welfare and all other kinds of assistance. They had to come and work. I also am guessing you did not notice who made up the street gangs back then? But our current trend towards cultural suicide is only one thing. The younger generation seems to think socialism is a nifty idea. Just one more sign of coming social breakdown. The President is a fink. |

My point is, what looks like cultural suicide and horrible decline really isn't. We always find ways to work with it, channel it in different directions. We have to, and we always do. Rome didn't really 'fall' they now say, it just slowly turned into something else. Something more long lasting, something more workable. Humans are very resilient, I have lots of faith that they'll always end up finding the right path. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

???? Rome fell. After it fell we had 1,000 years called the Dark Ages, a period of social decline and limited advances. One empire became many nation-states and smaller principalities. Living standards generally fell and fell hard. This is where the USA is headed. Might end up as half a dozen what will be known as nations. It happens after the dollar collapses, which is inevitable. Nope nope and nope. Rome faded away over a long period of time. There was no definitive moment, no invasion, nothing to point to as the cause. There were many causes, it just broke apart and slowly vanished. Dark Ages isn't used anymore. It was called 'dark' because of the lack of documentation from the era, not because it was a dark time. Since the early 20th century: "much light has been shed on the period and offered a more nuanced understanding of its positive developments" The term Dark Ages was coined in the 12th century because few people knew what went on then. We've always been advancing, slowly, but advancing none they less. "The idea that there was no innovation in the Dark Ages/Middle Ages is simply wrong—it was a period of remarkable inventiveness. And the idea that Greek and Roman learning was forgotten until the Renaissance is complete nonsense. It had always been preserved by the Church." If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
