I have new respect for Donald Trump. I finally
looked him up and read his families history and
was impressed. He actually has kind of a family
dynasty going.

He German immigrant grandfather made his fortune
in the hotel business. His father, Fred Trump made
a real fortune in NYC real estate. Donald grew up
in a very wealthy family. He was no spoiled brat,
he went to a good military school for 8th thru 12th
grade, and good colleges after that. He took over
the family business, worth about 200mil in 1971,
and grew it to the 9 bil it's worth today, no easy
feat. Even Trump's kids are very successful, especially Ivanka.

If there's any scandal in this family, it's well hidden.
No drug addicts or closet alcoholics, just a bunch of
hard working well educated ambitious people who
are living the American dream. Even Donad's siblings
are all successful. His sister is a retired federal judge
and his younger brother is president of his father's
property management company.

All this is very impressive to me, it makes me think
differently about Trump. Even the winners of the
orig Apprentice show, the ones that went to work
in the Trump business, have nothing but praise for
how Trump went out of his way for years to mentor
them and help them in their careers. Trump does not
own the rights to the show, but does have a big financial
stake in it. NBC didn't fire him, he quit because of the
campaign.

"The 2016 election appears to be one about presidential leadership, rather than policy issues. Republican voters are less concerned about the details of Trump's tax plan than about his track record of putting together deals or his promise of making the United States great again," says McLennan "It is about the voters’ perceptions of Trump as a leader rather than the details of his policy positions, or even the political positions he has held in the past."

I know this is the reason for Trump's
popularity. He's flamboyant, he
makes the rest of those running seem
dull and lackluster. It's his style, he's
a self promoter, a salesman. But he
also finds ways to get things done, he
knows how to surround himself with
good people. He gets people excited
about what he's selling.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I saw a bit of Sanders on Ellen. My god, he
looks and acts like he's 80. I was embarrassed
for him.

With Trump and Carson polling at nearly 50% between them, the candidates outside of Rubio, Fiorina, Cruz and Bush could do us a favor and drop out and reduce the noise.

As no state is allowed to vote all it's delegates to the winning candidate unless he/she earns 50% of the vote, it seems unlikely that any state will put all delegates for one candidate. The best money bet is that they enter the convention without a candidate.

As it is still the Democratic candidates election to lose, we may get a Carson/Trump or a Trump/Carson ticket.

I have to admit that I am surprised. I thought that the early hub-bub would die down.

Trump has a bigger than life personality that
fills any room he's in. You want the guy to
like you and be your friend. It even comes
across on TV. He believes in himself, he's
like the Tony Roberts of real estate.

Somebody hit it on the head today. Trump
is so big he makes all the other candidates
look small and weak. That's exactly it, I even
think about Bush and Rubio and the rest
as small people in my mind. I don't even
like Trump, but there is something compelling
about him. He's a powerful alpha male, a
natural leader.

No need to worry, the field has already shrunk and will continue to do so. We will have a candidate. If we do not, it will be because of a conservative/establishment split, not because of a wide field.

Wild card is how Trump continues. He is getting more results by spending less than anyone else. Most of his money is going to T-Shirts and other swag, little to polling or other stuff candidates are supposedly supposed to do. He is sort of some pre-WWII businessman bringing out a product and saying "the people will love it" with no care for research. He may be right and he may be wrong, but he will not let analysis paralysis set it.

The people are loving that so far. You ask Trump about something he tells you. You ask Hillary and she goes and asks her pollster.
The President is a fink.

The Democrats would love that so much.

That's funny because when I see the name EvenBob I immediately envision Bernie Sanders (not politically just appearance wise).
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

A couple polls had Carson beating Trump earlier
in the week in IA. I have a Google request that sends
any story about Trump polls to my inbox, I get
dozens a day.

You would have thought the race was over, from
some of the stories I read. Trump was finished,
it had finally happened. Of course today polls
have them tied or Trump leading in IA again,
but for a couple days there you would think
Trump was quitting at any minute.

It is a weird coalition of lefties and establishment GOP that want Trump to quit. They sort of are saying, "he had his fun and now he needs to go home." What they miss is he is an alpha-male and he does not care who knows it. He refuses to play the media, "you have to apologize for saying that" game. He generates several times the energy that Hillary does. He is a total wild card, which the political class hates because they cannot use their usual playbook.
The President is a fink.
