I'm not trying to disprove God right now, I'm trying to get you to disprove Zeus.

He won't do it, Nareed has tried. He knows
he can't, even though he knows Zeus is
a myth. Just like his god. Every argument
he uses can be used to disprove his own
god.

The premise in #2 overlooks the possibility that the greeks didn't invent Zeus, but instead discovered him through revelation.

Or that Jehovah was invented by Jews and then copied by Christians.

But Zeus rose to his rank after a war between the "modern" Greek gods and the Titans (Chronos, Ouranus, etc). This is well known. Chronos ate his children, afraid that one would overthrow him. Rhea, his wife, substituted Zeus with a rock and Chronos ate that. Later Zeus managed to somehow extract his siblings from the belly of his dead father.

But, by Jove, have you not seen lightning? Does that not prove Zeus is real?

Just as much proof as thinking you see
a creation means Yahweh created it.

Zeus is a real god. There's nothing to debate about that fact. The question I have is whether he's the best explanation for the creation of the cosmos or not. It's silly to go round and round about all these gods and whether they are real.

Thanks for the help. I do think I gave a few reasons you can disprove the existence of Zeus, using similar questions to disproving the tooth fairy. You can apply those earlier questions to Zeus and I think you'll get your answer. Also be careful about asking for proof that something does or doesn't exist. Remember we are talking about converging probabilitites and evidence that lead us to determine what is more probable that Zeus exists or doesn't.

Do you have a favorite god that you would like to attribute with the creation of the universe?

What a great non answer. That's it, that's all you
have? You won't give a real answer because you
know every single point can be applied to your
god as well. You're boxed in by your own circular
logic.

Just one who is all-powerful, eternal, and spiritual. You know just the things that we can know logically are neccessary for God because of creation. The rest of the many attributes of God we learn through revelation and the person of Jesus Christ.

There are so many to choose from, so
many god myths. It must get confusing.

Please give the details on why Zeus doesn't
exist.

Okay, there is no thinking adult that believes in Zeus and there is no reliable historical documentation or evidence that he has ever been seen or that he exists. The religious philosophy of Zeus and the other gods does little to answer the deepest questions of who we are as human beings, where we are going, how we should live, how to handle suffering, why do we sin, is there ultimate justice for the poor and oppressed, and is there hope for life after death. With further research we see Zeus and the other gods as personification of certain natural powers and phenomena. There have not been any miraculous or supernatural evidence of Zeus, such as miracles and the like. We could go on, but I have to type this on my phone, so I'll stop there. Merry Christmas!
