I took a Lyft from Mandalay Bay Casino to the airport.
Close enough to walk, but no way to do it.
I walked from the airport to what is now The Linq about 5 years ago. It was quite the adventure.

My weekly report. Got an old guy in a Lexus
SUV on Friday who said maintenance was
killing all his profits. Another old guy today
who was ranting about lying passengers.

They say they're one place and you find
out it's 8 miles farther. And they aren't going
anywhere to make it worth your while.
They lie because if they tell the truth, nobody
will go and get them.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I don't believe the Uber driver knows where the passenger is or where they are going until after they accept the ride.

Yup. And they call the passenger and
are told they aren't where it says on
the app, they're just a 'little farther'.
Calling the rider is apparently what
everybody is doing now, and it pisses
off the customers no end.

Doesn't the app show where they are when they book? Aussie?

The app shows where you SAY you are
or will be. You have to manually enter
your pick up address. Sometimes it
shows where you are, but that might not
be the place you want to be picked up
at so you enter it manually. Mine is always
wrong anyway, it always shows me being
5 miles north of my house.

There is no Uber service at the local casino.
So people put in a bar downtown and when
the driver calls they tell him they're at the
casino and to charge them for the trip to
and from the casino. That's a fare all the
Uber drivers want.

Here is what Uber Eats looks like at my McDonald’s at 1:40am Saturday night/Sunday morning. Yes, 5 orders with no drivers. I think the earliest one on the bottom placed their order shortly after 1. Right after I took that picture, there were drivers picking up orders. By 1:52 all orders plus a few more were either cancelled or picked up as seen here. What I don’t understand is the people who ordered more recently had their order picked up first while the ones who waited the longest had their order canceled.

I've thought of using Uber eats
but
Its so easy to get in the car, 5 min drive to get to Mcdonald's drive thru then back home in another 5 min
Food fresh
With Uber eats, could be 30 to 45 min from kitchen to home, not very fresh
No thanks

I've known a few stoners to whom it would not matter. They cared more about being lazy than food being fresh.

This is the sign of true decadence
when you pay a taxi to deliver
fast food to you because you're
too lazy to get off your ass and
get it yourself.
