What, you are not siding with the guy that said he would never take an Uber

Things changed, as I explained. I never had
a reason to, now I do. It saves me $60 a
month on airport parking fees and the long
slog from parking to the terminal. And all
that is because of WoV and the tip I got
from the AP thread.

Yup
Of course he is now doubling down and playing fake road warrior
ROTFL
He should have just given up with his fantasy fake super secret tiny local Uber forum that he cant let anybody know about. LOL
EB just doesn't get it. Cab business is so last century

Maybe it is a private forum of unsatisfied former taxi drivers.

Here's a quote from the Operations section of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taxicabs_of_the_United_States

Quote:
Drivers are rarely employees of the company, and usually lease the taxicab on a per-shift basis. Lease drivers receive no benefits from the taxicab company, and often have to bribe dispatchers to get a shift.

How's that for a business model and reputation?

It is what the show "Taxi" was about. Louie dispatched who he liked best, or who made the most money. All of the drivers with the exception of Alex were just doing the gig as an interim job, same as most Uber drivers today.

Uber banned in London as unsafe. This
is the trend for the future of Uber.

Is this the teensy weensy "city of London" or is it for all of Metropolitan London?

Also, its based solely upon "corporate responsibility" issues rather than the business model.

What trend? Politicians caving in for the taxi lobby?

People love Uber. It has probably kept more people from driving intoxicated than any single thing the past 50 years.

Cabs have just themselves to blame. They have the same blinders the record industry did in 1999.

That and cabs are inspected regularly and
Uber cars are not. I had an Uber a couple
weeks ago where the driver had to pump
his brakes before he stopped. If there had
been a panic stop, I bet they would have
failed. You never see that in a cab.

And I had another Uber a month ago
in a Suburban who's tranny was
slipping so bad when he took off
from a start he could barely take
off. The 'parts are being shipped'
he said. Sure they are. The problem is, you can
have a 10 year old car now and drive,
it used to be 6 years I think.
