What the heck is duck tape, never heard of it. It says Duct Tape right on the product. Who calls it duck tape, doesn't even make sense. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Quaker, got me started. Looks like a Quaker. Though I've not studied the issue. Maybe his last names was Oats. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

But it says it's duct tape right on the label. Where would the argument come from when they both say duct tape. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

It is like how nobody gets corrected if they ask for a Kleenex when really any facial tissue will do. Sometimes a brand name becomes the acceptable synonym for the type of product it is. Regarding the Quaker Oats quaker, I thought quakers were supposed to have a beard and no moustache. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

So there are people who think duct tape is really duck tape? When it says right on the label that duck tape IS duct tape? Nowhere does it say it the other way around. How could they possibly have a position for an argument. On a facial tissue box it never says Kleenex, unless it is Kleenex. No argument there either. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Nareed Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 346 Posts: 12545 | Is it: 1) Statute of limitations or Statue of limitations? 2) For all intents ad purposes or for all intensive purposes? 3) Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder or Obsessive/Compulsive disorder? Spoiler answer: 1) StatuTe. It's not a "piece of sculpture of limitations," nor a "monument of limitations" 2) Intents. The other doesn't make sense. What is an "intensive purpose"? 3) There's no difference. You can also call it OCD. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Frustrated or flustrated? This one used to drive me nuts. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

You're thinking of Amish Mennonites. They're the ones with strict adherence to ritual. The beards, no electricity, plain clothes, priests and prayer. Quakers are much more liberal. They use cars, have radios, have no priests as "every man is connected to God". A beard is not part of their culture as they need no ritual to be close to God. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |
