Sorry, but I find it too corny. How about for a title "West Hollywood." For a subtitle "All the world seems bright and gay." Can anyone name the reference of the sub-title? Three brownie points for the first right answer. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

I AM evil; just no one has caught on yet! Perhaps as penance you can have the first rental of my signature space for the rest of the month. (And don't listen to any K-Pop--it NEVER goes away! Total earworms.) This space for rent |

WongBo Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1 Posts: 14 | Why not opt for a more inclusive approach to attract participants, I find terms based on gay ghettos to be sort of limited in scope. Fruit Loop and West Hollywood just seem to trivialize the reality. LGBT people are everywhere. It would be interesting if a site seemingly inviting diversity Didn't devolve into the few open outspoken gay people being baited with homophobic insults. Why should the forum have a frivolous or humorous name for LGBT issues only? Unless that's the direction that the other sub forums take as well. |

Mosca Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 22 Posts: 730 | How about "Friends of Matthew"? I dunno. Some things are worth paying attention to, and this is one of them. It's not principle like, "Oh, just get over it," it's principle like, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend my friend, and I'll make amends and change that." You might try to distance yourself by calling it over-political-correctness, but I think I'd just call it politeness. That is a much more direct word. Changing the name is the polite thing to do, it means you care about the people more than the principle. And if you care about the people, the principles just sort of fall in line behind that. |

I second that. All other sub-boards have a descriptive name. The politics board, for example, is not called The Pig Pen (I'm using a derogatory term on purpose). So either name this baord "GLBT Area" or something else descriptive, or use derogatory terms for all the other areas. I'm sure we can find derogatory names for everything. And now I'm gone. Wizard Administrator Member since: Oct 23, 2012 Threads: 239 Posts: 6095 | I admit I have almost no sense of humor, but I was at least trying to be humorous with the other topic names and subtitles. I'm still not big on any "rainbow" names. The Matthew idea is well intended, but I think most won't get the reference. I promise I'll change the name, but haven't decided what to change it to yet.
