Just think, there would be no Age of Discovery, or possibly no concept of races of man.

No age of discovery, no. But different genotypes would give rise to "races" anyway.

That's one configuration, and a fairly recent one. there were other periods with all the land bunched together. in this map, though, the one glaring difference is there are no large islands to serve as a nucleus for a maritime power. Also, notice how sea travel doesn't seem necessary at all for most regions. maybe in the Gulf of Mexico, and to reach Russia from Canada. Everything else would seem to favor land travel until someone invents powered flight.

Circumnavigating the globe doesn't seem possible, either.

Good question. Not sure but I will find out.

One can easily picture someone in LA going to NYC for a week, say, then going off to Australia.

I don't think this would be a useful "hidden city" flight. not even in first class.

Both the rotation of the Moon and its revolution around Earth takes 27 days, 7 hours, and 43 minutes. This synchronous rotation is caused by an unsymmetrical distribution of mass in the Moon, which has allowed Earth's gravity to keep one lunar hemisphere permanently turned toward Earth.

I wonder if Pangea could have done the same thing between Earth and the Sun. It would be a very different world half in light and half in dark.

There was a plane boarding to Dubai next to my flight from Seattle to Frankfurt. From the passengers, you would think it was going to New Delhi.
