The RFID chips are making “tap and go” possible, but they still rely on passing your credit card number around. ![]() The new Apple technology doesn't so much improve the ease of the transaction as its security. Obviously this data breach at Home Depot is the best advertising Apple could hope for. |

Your statement would be fine if it was true. iPhone is still the most popular in North America by a hair but Samsung has twice the market share worldwide. "but if you make yourselves sheep, the wolves will eat you." Benjamin Franklin |

You should really get out of the apple box more often. 3, 3GS, 4, 4S seems like more apple might possibly have more than 1 phone. More owners have 4 than 4S which is newer. Presales on 5 are 200m. The study seems to mirror Gartner Inc's figures that Samsung sold 300m smartphones last year, which is 31% of the nearly 1bn sold globally, and double that of Apple. | Beethoven Member since: Apr 27, 2014 Threads: 18 Posts: 640 | All you've done is name different iterations of the SAME phone. Samsung has numerous phone models, which is why they sell so many. (Also, the iPhone 5 has been discontinued for over a year now) You're missing the entire point. Go back and look at the post I initially replied to. I was responding specifically to a person who said "just Apple", as if Apple is a minor player in the smartphone market. Apple is about as major as you can get. I think you haven't noticed that the Apple has fallen from the tree. 4Q13 Android sales 78.1% 4Q13 IOS sales 17.6% of total smartphone sales. Apple is second but only a 1/4 of the sales of android phones not sure that qualifies as "as major as you can get". They likely will have a much better year in 2014 with the release of the 6 but unlikely to become the leading system again. "but if you make yourselves sheep, the wolves will eat you." That alone shows how wrong terapined was when he called Apple a "minor" player. Boron Boron Boron rhymes with moron, moron, moron |

Certainly Apple is the largest company in the world by market capitalization for 11 of the past 12 quarters when it passed Exxon Mobil. Samsung Electronics was as high as #8 in 4th quarter 2012 when it was less than half of Apple. |
