Pacomartin Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 1068 Posts: 12569 | "How to Train your Dragon 2" got excellent review, it premiered to 14% higher than the first film (which was a top 10 in year 2010), and it's production budget was smaller. You would think that would be positive news, but investors are deserting the stock in droves because they were hoping for a better than 50% improvement. It seems like investors are unrealistic sometimes. |

In 2001 Shrek made (domestic+foreign) $267,665,011+ $216,744,207= $484,409,218 In 2004 Shrek 2 made $441,226,247+ $478,612,511= $919,838,758 In 2010 "How to Train Your Dragon" made $217,581,231+ $277,297,528= $494,878,759 So investors were convinced that HTTYD#2 would do something similar. It's sort of a shame, since it was well reviewed and it will make over $600m. It's hard to view that as a failure.
