Might depend on the unit, I haven't seen my GPS allowing it but I don't have the time to try it. I'd want KITT or HAL. As to uploading, my thought is you need a decent amount of voice for the computer to synthesize it for all statements. Assuming you can do it.

I can't not hear Mr Feeney whenever I hear KITT now. It's ruined for me.

I could only tolerate it if it was absurd. Like a duet of Archie Bunker and George Jefferson arguing about which way to go.

I don't know who any of these characters are but I'd sure not want to monkey around with the voices and find I had changed right to left or something like that.
