It feels like the dream of peace in the Holy Land is being rekindled. I hope the upcoming meeting between Palestinian and Israeli leaders in the Vatican bears fruit. For those following this amazing trip by the Pope he also began a new era of ecumenism with the Orthodox Patriarch in Jerusalem.
May there be peace!

Never gonna happen. Too much hatred for
too long.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Well, the Pope would definitely get awarded a miracle in his resume' if that happens.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Pope's were much more effective at waging
war than brokering peace. Like Julius II. There
was a pope who got things done..

More important, too many interests including the USA do not want Mid East peace.

Israel doesn't. If there ever was true peace,
the spigot of gushing US foreign aid would
be turned off. We give over $8 million a day
to Israel, most of it goes to their military. The
military is a huge industry there. It's a small
country yet supplies 10% of the worlds high
tech military equipment. Does that sound
like they're in the peace business?

You have to spend that kind of cash when your neighbors have a goal of wiping you off the face of the earth.

Now, the Palestinians don't want peace because without Israel to blame for the sun rising in the east and everything else wrong inthe world their population would surely revolt.

That whole story always makes me chuckle. After
the war, Israel was given land that nobody else
wanted. The Palestinians laughed at them. Then
when Israel made it a desirable place to live, the
Palestinians were livid. Oh well..

GoogleEarth both sides of the wall dividing the Gaza Strip. The difference is amazing.
