Article

They are stating this not in terms of legal costs, but in the amount of money divided between the parties.

Since the ordeal has spanned some six years, what do you figure the lawyers got, $25 million? 50?

What a horrible, terrible, disturbing thing marriage is.

Maybe we should let people marry toasters. I mean, can it really get any worse? ;)
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

Yes. Legalize polygamy and the divorce from several spouses would raise the bar geometrically :-(

But, while the article din't really delve much into details, if the allegations of blatant infidelity are true then as Robin Williams said, "Nanu, nanu Divorce is the process of ripping out a man's testicles through his wallet"

Are you kidding? You think that lawyers managed to eke out only 1% of a settlement in fees? You can bet they had an entire staff on this single case.

The list of divorcees on the Forbes billionaire list keeps growing. Of course, in the case of the Wynns, she was a business partner of his also.

You want to really get cynical, come to the courthouse with me. Some recent favorites:

----Guy comes home, finds wife beating one of the kids with a stick. Same wife demands he buy her an upright vac (this was in the 1960s) instead of the old-school one they had. A month after that she wants a new one of the old kind, which he ends up buying.

----Woman goes to visit her family in SC, gone about two weeks. Guy tells all their friends she left him. When she gets back he tells them all, "she couldn't handle it on her own and crawled back."

---Guy doesn't buy food for the family, hides all the bills and other financial paperwork in his Corvette. Once brings apples home for him and the kids but not the wife. Wife had to hold their IRS refund hostage for some reason but had to give in. Same guy would often go a month or more without bathing. Started grooming when he found a 19 YOGF.

---Guy tells his wife she better watch if she has to go to the bathroom at night because he will be in his bedroom sleeping with his gun and he would "shoot anything that moves." (He had to turn his gun in to the Sheriff after that.)

And this is just what one guy remembers.
The President is a fink.

Just thinking out loud and wondering what others with more knowledge of these things would figure. Took some numbers out of the clear blue sky. What do you think, 10%? 25%?

If you have a lot of money, why in gods name
would you get married these days.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

No, that would be unreasonable. But you have to figure it took some real detective work to go through finances of a guy like that. He must have an army of people to obfuscate facts. The wife would give away a few percentage as incentive fees.

So she got over $4.5 billion. I can't imagine any less than $200 million.
