And it makes regular gamblers unhappy with their vision of how gambling 'should be', that's why many of them don't like it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Rounders was simply well-written. I remember one of my salesmen heard I saw it and asked if he could take his kid, age 12 or so. I remember telling him there was not really bad language or sex in it but that the plot might be too long for his attention span. I always loved the mixed ending, he leaves his girl and goes to Vegas. Leaves law school to play poker. Leave in a cab with the bag he is carrying. Hopefully he didn't get stupid and buy the ticket in cash or get on a plane with all that money and have the feds steal it from him. The President is a fink. |
