I have heard this 'the sky is falling down' mantra since the 1960's. There is always something that is the threat to the end of our great society. Yet despite all these threats American society moves forward, usually better with each passing decade. Life expectancy way up. Amazing technology available to even the poor. Civil rights available to all. A black man can be President. A gay man can run for President. A woman can be President. A Jew can run for President. A Muslim immigrant can be a Congresswoman. Most would say these are examples of a growing, thriving society.

The few with extreme mental illness that use violence to me does not indicate a 'collapsing society'.

I would not call those examples of a "growing thriving society." Just of a changing society. FWIW, I do not see a muslim in congress as a good thing given the awful record of islam in Europe and it's disdain for Western culture. I consider it the same danger as if we had a nazi in congress in 1938 or a communist in 1950-1990.

Tech has advanced, but look at what has been lost. Out of wedlock births are a disaster already happening. They have already destroyed the Black community. White out of wedlock rate is now where Blacks were 50 years ago. Expect similar results, thought the better White family structure will delay the disaster a generation. Hispanic rates are about as bad. They too have a stronger family structure, but less wealth. Their results will be in-between.

Look at how many in the lower classes cannot make it one their own. So many on assistance. Not a good sign.

Look at the fertility rate, the keystone to decline predictions. Birth rates fall in recessions and rise after. Until 2008. Now down to what, 1.75 per woman? And so many women waiting until almost 40 to have their first child? That is not healthy or natural.

People think a collapsed society means we will all be running around in loincloths yelling "WOOBA WOOBA" as the cities burn. No, that will not happen. What will happen is we will wake up and see ourselves looking like Russia about 1999. Low births, high abortion rate, high drug and alcohol problems. Heck, we are well on our way.

EDIT: If you want to see collapsed, go to the Bay Area or LA. Check out the homeless population, check out the needles and human waste on the sidewalks. Notice how many people cannot afford basic housing. Collapse takes many forms.

Scandinavian countries generally have had women bearing children with no husband. It was never condemned.
A divorced woman? Don't you mean a "woman of experience"? Or perhaps you are thinking of Edwardian times wherein a man and wife remained married but attended lengthy houseparties wherein a bell was rung to indicate that gentlemen guests should leave a woman's bedroom.

If you really want to see the collapse of society just you wait until women start saying 'belly" or uttering the word 'leg' instead of 'lower extremity'.

I pay no serious attention to it, we always
manage to rebound. We should have lost
