Not all the Marvel characters are coming off fantastic on screen. The Fantastic Four were almost childish, and the writing in the wolverine movies is pretty bland. Wolverine was always popular in the comic books (more so than Iron Man). The first one was much better than the 2nd, so the trajectory is not good.

I would have to agree. I'm a big Marvel fan but I didn't even watch the 2nd Wolverine........

Problem is these scripts are becoming too complex I think. They are also trying to wire in all the characters to each storyline in the Marvel Universe. I think this will be come increasingly difficult and will make for some silly stories moving forward.

I am looking forward to the next Avengers movie though.....some scenes shot in Johannesburg, South Africa and some in Seoul, SK......I might as well be in the movie :)

Bored in a motel room recently, I watched an X-men movie. Things about it were disturbing. Once i get over it, I might give a review.

MINOR SPOILER: The entire movie takes place in Japan

Despite being shot with mostly Japanese actors, the film did not seem to be particularly popular in Japan. The film ranked #65 for the year in Japan, below the Will Smith bomb, After Earth

Boxoffice for "The Wolverine"
$132,556,852 Northern America
$40,570,000 China
$22,277,049 Russia - CIS
$21,412,596 Brazil
$21,087,118 United Kingdom
$18,286,178 France
$17,021,460 Mexico
$7,991,915 Japan

I felt like I was watching a typical martial arts film with slightly higher production values.

I am not sure why they are giving this character the short shrift compared to Spider Man, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America. He was very popular in comic books.
