Out of the five films to make half a billion dollars in domestic boxoffice, did you like any of them? Days to get domestic boxoffice to $0.5 Billion 17 Jurassic World 6/12/15 23 Marvel's The Avengers 5/4/12 32 Avatar 12/18/09 45 The Dark Knight 7/18/08 98 Titanic 12/19/97 There are now 22 films to make over $1 billion worldwide, but only 5 films made $0.5 billion in USA and Canada. Of the 22 films, only "The Dark Knight" made more than half it's revenue domestically. |

Dark Knight. Never saw Avatar past the first 15 min, walked out on Titanic, no JW yet, Avengers was OK because of Downey. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Titanic was the last one of the big old style movie release. It's biggest day at the box office was 58 days after it's release on Valentine's Day. It broke $500 milllion after 98 days in release, and they left it in another 26 weeks so it would break $600 million. Nobody would waste that much time as the movie could be generating DVD and streaming sales. With the exception of limited releases where the film opens in only a few theaters to get positive reviews, no movie today does better on it's second weekend than it's first. But nobody expected Jurassic World to break $500m in 17 days. |

He was injured, but not seriously enough to stop filming. It seems that the film company paid local merchants some money to make up for lost business, and these thugs felt that they were overlooked. |
