Safest place for a girl to live in those days: all that muscle but no interest in her, yet if anything happened, they would all love to work up a little sweat bouncing some hippie across a volleyball net for awhile. |

I was just there a few months ago. Spent New Years at the forum in Inglewood seeing Dead and Co. Also checked out the area 23 years ago, again in town for the Grateful Dead at the LA Sports Arena Back in the day during my visit, the area struck me as hip and artsy. My recent visit, more of a flea market vending scene What really caught my eye were all the homeless. Up and down the boardwalk on the beach were numerous homeless camped out I was pretty amazed by the numbers. Really sad. Later I heard the homeless gather at Venice Beach because its one on the few local communities that doesn't hassle them. The new skateboard park is a lot of fun to watch. I was pretty blown away by some of the kids there and their tricks. Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |

It's not sad, 80% of those people want to be there. Most of them are under 40, with most of those under 30. It's a lifestyle, scamming and living off whatever they can get for free. They're bums, calling them homeless gives real homeless people a bad name. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
