These are all one off or rare conversations when you use BC. After you start it becomes a given and no more need for discussion. Natural Family Planning leads to at least a monthly discussion about children, health, sex life, etc.

I'm curious as to your reasoning here? When people don't talk about kids they end up having more. That kind of sounds ridiculous, care to explain what you meant?

Here I would differ on making a child into a price tag. We are talking about a new human life here after all. Yes, having children is expensive and one needs to reasonably plan their families. However I think you make a mistake in making the only decision about whether or not to have children is about money.

to support. You were griping awhile back
that you barely make enough money to
support yourself. How would it be if you
had a kid to support on top of it. Money
is 80% of having kids now. 40 years ago
Raising kids was far more expensive than it
was just 20 years ago.

have kids. She loves the pill. If you
tried to talk to her about it she would

The cheapest and least risky option is a vasectomy. It's also cheaper and zero-risk to collect sperm in case he changes his mind later on.

In the Catholic view one of the main reasons of getting married would be to have children.
