The idea of making a 3 minute commercial that will stand alone is interesting. Of course it has to be funny.

The two Spocks in an Audi commercial.

This one's only 1:14 but it tells quite a story. "Maddie" for Chevy. Not comical.

Never doubt a small group of concerned citizens can change the world; it's the only thing ever has

Good concept, 2min too long. It didn't hold
my attention and lost its point because of
it's length. Nimoy has aged as well as a
leather gold bag left out in the weather
for years.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Nice commercial. l really liked the warning growl when her suitor got too close to her.

Of course you could take the Chevy out of the ad and replace it with just about any other product.

I'm more aware of the disappearing commercial as I describe them. They get repeated over and over, but over time it gets shorter and shorter. The viewer finds himself filling in the missing parts in his mind as it's shortened. I'm left wondering how they're effective and how it's supposed to work. In other words, what do they know I don't know the commercial is actually accomplishing?

They know it works because they wouldn't be doing it if it did not work.

Recall perhaps that viral video "First Kiss" sponsored by fashion retailer WREN in Los Angeles. Many people enjoyed the video and didnt even realize it was actually a commercial even though it started with WREN presents. The 20 first kissers were wearing WREN clothing but it was a subtle effect.

With fast food, I know they see a change in sales that week when they have an effective commercial. With prestige advertising (like the attached 30 and 60 second versions of an Omega commercial), I am sure they simply guess.

Notice how the last 11 seconds of both commercials are identical. The short version builds up in 18 seconds, and the other takes 48 seconds to do the same thing, They have to put long pauses in the music in the long version so the short one is still coherent,

Saw the secret life of Walter Mitty tonight. Papa John's really paid big to screw that movie up. I already have been lowering my opinion of the place, then seeing this movie didn't help. Lots of plugs in this one, so the ones I don't remember probably scored the best deals. I'll buy their stuff in the next few weeks and won't know why.

Is it the same story as the 1947 film.

Here's a cool one for Adidas, although it might as well be for GoPro cameras. Very cool camera work, especially the somersaults in a parachute at 1:04. I didn't even realize that was possible.
